REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – April 20, 2006 – Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today that NFL MVP and NFC Champion running back Shaun Alexander will appear on the cover of Madden NFL 07 , the newest iteration of the EA SPORTS™ best-selling football franchise with the official videogame license of the NFL and its players.  With this year's focus on the running game , Alexander is the perfect representative for the cover of the most popular football videogame franchise. Last year Madden NFL 06 sold more than six million copies. 

 

"To be on the cover of Madden NFL 07 is a big milestone in my career since I have always been a huge fan of this franchise ," said Alexander. "EA SPORTS is focusing on the running game in this year's version , so I was honored when I was chosen to be on the cover to represent the improved running game."

Alexander, who was named the NFL MVP and selected for his third consecutive Pro Bowl this past season , is the hottest running back in the NFL. He has rushed for over 1,150 yards in each of the last five seasons.  As the most valuable player in the NFL he rushed for a league-high 1 ,880 yards and 27 touchdowns on 370 carries.  He also caught 15 passes for 78 yards and one touchdown , scoring an NFL-record 28 touchdowns, setting a new single-season rushing touchdown record.  In addition, he extended his NFL-record number of seasons with at least 15 touchdowns to five.  During the season Alexander became the Seahawks career leader in rushing yards (7 ,817) attempts (1 ,717) and 100-yard games (33).

ALL-STAR CAST SECURED FOR SUPERMAN RETURNS: THE VIDEOGAME

Interactive Entertainment announced today they have secured an all-star cast for the voices in SUPERMAN RETURNS™: THE VIDEOGAME. The game will feature the voice and likeness of Brandon Routh (Superman/Clark Kent) as well as the voices of Kevin Spacey (Lex Luthor), Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane), Parker Posey (Kitty Kowalski) and Sam Huntington (Jimmy Olsen), all reprising their roles from the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures film directed by Bryan Singer.

I won! I won!  EA's Xbox Live event Burnout Revenge 21 Days of Carnage!

 

 

 

 

 

Wow.  I just noticed that I did so much gaming on Xbox Live this weekend that I now have all my stars filled out on my Gamercard.  I had 3 stars and a little of the fourth filled out prior to this weekend...but now my stars are all filled up.  Thanks to those who gave me positive feedback.

 

First off let me say again, THANKS to everyone involved in the Free Xbox Live Weekend a few days ago.  It was great and I had a blast...the most fun playing on Xbox Live in a long time in fact.

 

Now on to my impressions as I stated I'd give.

 

The graphics in the game are very nice....are they everything I'd expect from 'next gen'..no.  But they are impressive.  The water is the one thing that stands out in peoples eyes as it should because it's incredible to look at.

 

The lighting in the game is also very nice...the sands gleam...the environment speaks to you.  The environment is though the one thing that stands out when you look for something that could've been much better from a visual standpoint.  The sounds were great but visually it was stale in many areas.

 

After playing quite a bit this past weekend, this games is truly a favorite of mine.  As you progress, and you get more weapons and more abilities it's great.

 

The dialogue is both funny and cheesy at the same time...the AI is often stupid but then hey sometimes it helps lol

 

The one thing I've yet to dive into is the Map Editor.  I fiddled with it and from the few moments I played with it I could tell it's going to be my favorite thing to waste time on...but I dont' want to mess with it until i finish the game.

 

Overall, it's a solid title for those like me who have never played the Far Cry series before.  For those who have, it's a decent pick up to see the few upgrades that the 360 allowed.
